Hollywood film censored in Dubai

The screening of the action film “Escape Plan” was abruptly cut short in a Dubai movie theater.

The movie starring Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger was deemed inappropriate when officials heard a character in the movie cursing in Arabic.

Arab governments are notorious for censorship regarding sexual, profane and blasphemous content and often distribute revised versions of literature and films to the public.

Upon the film’s interruption, the profanity was censored out of the movie and the edited version was made available to theaters a few hours later.
