A revival of iconic family situation comedy “Full House” is set to air on Netflix in 2016. Netflix ordered thirteen episodes of the new comedy, which will feature many characters from the original late 1980s and early 1990s ABC series. The new show will be entitled “Fuller House.” John Stamos, who portrayed Jesse Katsopolis, told Jimmy Kimmel Monday night that the spin-off will star Candace Cameron-Bure, as widowed single mother D.J. Tanner-Fuller, with Jodie Sweetin as younger sister/aspiring musician Stephanie Tanner, and Andrea Barber, as D.J.’s lifelong best friend/fellow single mother Kimmy Gibbler. After Stamos’ announcement, Netflix provided more details of the upcoming new series, with Full House creator Jeff Franklin serving as executive producer. Stamos will be a producer and make periodic guest appearances. According to the offical statement from Netflix, “Fuller House,” will echo the original series extended family story line. Stamos added that the plan is to have a reunion of the original stars when the show premieres, but is unclear at the moment who else will be participating in the other twelve episodes. Netflix is currently in talks with other Full House stars, including: Bob Saget, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Dave Coulier, and Lori Loughlin.
