Cuba’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez, announced that the Cuban embassy in Washington, D.C. was the “target of a terrorist attack” on Sunday evening. The embassy was hit with two Molotov cocktails. No staff were harmed during the incident.
In April 2020, Alexander Alazo, a Cuban citizen living in the U.S. opened fire and shot 32 rounds toward the embassy. No one was injured during the attack. Alazo was indicted on multiple charges related to the shooting and is allegedly currently using an insanity defense.
