After failing to secure enough votes on his third ballot for House speaker Rep. Jim Jordan was dropped as the Republican nominee for speaker. The nine candidates for nomination areTom Emmer, R-MN, Kevin Hern, R-OK, Jack Bergman, R-MI, Austin Scott, R-GA, Byron Donalds, R-FL, Mike Johnson, R-LA, Pete Sessions, R-TX, Dan Meuser, R-PA, and Gary Palmer, R-AL.

The House is entering its third week without a speaker. Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-NY has been the closest nominee to receiving the necessary number of votes. “It is an absolute mess over there,” said Rep.
