Incumbent Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper conceded defeat late Monday evening to Justin Trudeau. “This is what positive politics can do,” Trudeau told supporters in Ottawa early Tuesday morning as the last few results trickled in. Trudeau, a Liberal, will be the first new Canadian leader in 10 years since the Conservative party’s Harper was elected in 2006. Harper will remain in parliament as a lawmaker. “We put everything on the table, we gave everything we had to give and we have no regrets,” he said.
