D.C. EMS workers attacked

Police are currently searching for a group of four or five men who shot at EMS workers in D.C. early Friday morning. The incident happened just after midnight around 4th Street and Florida Avenue in Northeast, when two workers in a marked ambulance came across two groups of people exchanging gunfire. One group got into a car to leave the scene, and a police chase ensued. U.S. Park Police were called in for backup. At that point, someone in the car fired on the ambulance and took off. The ambulance followed. When the shooters got to Potomac Avenue, in Southeast, near Pennsylvania Avenue, they deserted the car and ran off. No injuries have been reported. The investigation is ongoing.
