Washington Post reporter Carol Leonnig has won the Pulitzer Prize in national reporting for her revealing coverage of humiliating security lapses at the Secret Service. Leonnig won American journalism’s most coveted honor on Monday. The award comes with a $10,000 prize. According to the Post, 49-year-old Leonnig said that her reporting involved “so many risks by public servants” who put their trust in her. Leonnig was also part of the team that won a 2014 Pulitzer for reporting on the National Security Agency’s surveillance programs.
