Beginning in late January and lasting until April, residents of DC will start seeing a one-time cash rebate from the water bills. The rebate was approved by the board of directors for the District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority, after they reportedly managed to cut costs during the past year. A decision was made to reward customers with a one-time rebate that will average around $9 per person.
General Manager George S Hawkins says the rebate will also deflect unhappiness with forthcoming rate increases.
