A power outage at the infamous L’Enfant Plaza has caused one of the entrances to close. The incident also left much of the station dark Friday morning. Metro stated that the entrance at 9th and D Streets entrance is currently closed, but the other two entrances remain open. Trains are still running, and not affected by the outage. The exact cause of the outage is unclear at the moment. PEPCO suspects that water got into an electrical vault. Pepco and Metro are working on correcting the problem, but do not know when it will be fixed. L’Enfant Plaza is on Metro’s Yellow, Green, Orange, Blue and Silver lines. The transit agency had been plagued by setbacks all morning. Just after the morning commute began, two rails were damaged outside the East Falls Church station resulting in major delays on the Orange and Silver lines.
