Former District of Columbia mayor Marion Barry is out of the hospital after his car accident in DC on Saturday morning. Barry claims the crashed occurred because he became disoriented after taking his medication on an empty stomach. He said he was trying to make a turn and he hit another car. The accident happened on 30 Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast, police said. Barry has also paid his outstanding traffic tickets after accumulating more than $2,800 in fines over the past two and a half years. Barry’s recent traffic tickets included five citations for speeding and one for running a red light.
