The National Weather service announced a flood watch beginning Wednesday evening for D.C., Baltimore and the surrounding areas. The watch will continue until late into the night. Low pressure fronts are approaching from the south, which will create heavy rain across the counties under watch. At least 2 inches of rain are expected by Thursday morning, with probable flooding in low-lying urban areas. The rain will begin late in the afternoon. Affected counties include Montgomery, Prince George’s, Anne Arundel, Harford and Howard, as well as northern Virginia.
