D.C. police identified a deceased robbery suspect that possibly shot himself after a shootout with officers earlier this week. The man was identified as 33-year-old Benjamin Alexander Gwyn of northwest Washington by the Metropolitan Police Department. Officers disrupted a robbery in progress around 11:30 p.m. Thursday in the 14th Street corridor of northwest Washington. When officers attempted to apprehend Gwyn, he pulled out a gun and began fleeing. Gwyn and police exchanged gunfire, and he was found dead soon after due to a gunshot wound to the head. No officers were injured. Preliminary information indicates Gwyn may have turned the gun on himself.
