The body of a man discovered Monday night in Rock Creek Park, has been identified, and a $25,000 reward is being offered for any information leading to an arrest. The victim’s family has yet to be notified, and therefore his identity, revealed through fingerprinting, has not yet been disclosed to the public. Investigators also have yet to say whether or not the weapon was recovered.
The man’s body was found around 6 p.m. by a park patron near Beach Drive and Joyce Rd. A member of the Park Police squad, Maj. Keith Horton, described the area as unconcealed and well regulated.
According to Capt. Robert Alder, “We did go back out there today with a group of cadets from the police academy to do a walk-through of the entire scene to attempt to locate any evidence that may be on the scene that we did not see due to last night’s lighting conditions and also make sure that we were able to cover a large area.”
