Children and families by the plenty, from across the nation are going to the White House on Monday for the 134th annual Easter Egg Roll on the South Lawn. The event is the largest for the public on White House grounds, with at least 30,000 people expected to attend. In conjunction with the traditional egg roll, there will be storytelling, games, and music.

This year’s theme is “Let’s Go, Let’s Play, Let’s Move,” and encourages physical activity, which is part of First Lady Michelle Obama’s initiative to lower and eliminate childhood obesity. Obstacle courses, tennis, basketball, dancing, jump rope, hula hoop, and yoga will all be part of the fun. Music will be given by Janelle Monae, Cody Simpson, Rachel Crow, and Sesame Street. The Easter Egg Roll at the White House is courtesy of President Rutherford B. Hayes back in 1878. The event will broadcast live on Monday at whitehouse.gov.
