The baby Jesus figure that was stolen from a Fredericksburg nativity scene was recovered last week after a woman posted a photo of the figure on her Facebook page. The figure was discovered missing Dec. 14, part of a larger nativity scene at the Central Park Shopping Center. Upon the figure’s appearance on Facebook, an observant citizen notified Fredericksburg police.
Police arrested 25-year-old Amanda Crelia on Wednesday for her involvement in the theft. Crelia led detectives to her father’s home, where she had hidden the stolen figure. Her father was unaware the baby Jesus had been hidden in his garage. Crelia was charged with grand larceny.
