A statement Monday from Sen. Mark R. Warner contained update to the story of a McAuliffe aide allegedly offering future jobs to former Senator Phillip P. Puckett and his daughter, Martha Puckett Ketron, if the Puckett remained in Congress. Warner has stated he “brainstormed” ideas for the Ketron’s future with a son of Puckett, but did not promise or offer a job. Warner also stated that Puckett had written his resignation letter before that conversation took place. Warner is to debate Ed Gillespie (R), running in opposition to Warner, today in Richmond before the midterm elections.
