A heavy storm system that produced tornadoes took over the East Coast yesterday killing four people in Virginia. Heavy snow in the Midwest caused flights to be canceled and leaving hundreds of thousands without power. Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe declared a state of emergency on Wednesday night after tornadoes caused power outages and damaged many homes across the state. Virginia State Police spokeswoman Corinne Geller said that in Waverly, VA a 2-year-old child and two men, ages 50 and 26, were killed during the storm. The fourth victim came from Appomattox County; a funnel cloud left an 8-10 mile path of destruction killing the man and also injuring seven.
