Sandy Hook school in VA site of arrest

A man, purportedly trying to send some kind of message regarding school violence and gun control, was arrested Wednesday for walking into an elementary school in Strasburg, VA, holding a board marked with the words “High Powered Rifle.” The elementary school shares the name Sandy Hook with the elementary school in Newtown, CT, that was the site of one of the worst mass shootings in US history. Administrators immediately contacted authorities and the man, Christopher G. Johnson of Strasburg, was confronted and stopped by a school resource officer. Officers say that Johnson did not resist arrest and went with them calmly; no weapons were found on him or in the car he drove to the school. He has been charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct. No students are reported to have witnessed the incident.
