Century-old remains found while expanding a Prince William County’s school sports facility were reburied in a new plot Saturday. The remains were found when a public high school in the county was excavating the area to build two new playing fields. Historians and archaeologists traced the remains far enough to conclude they were most likely ancestors of the Lynn family, which has deep roots in the area. The conflict between the school district and the family was put to rest along with the remains in a spot not far from its original location in Manassas in a fenced area with a commemorative plaque. Also, the school district commissioned a full archaeological report of the remains and artifacts found at the site.
