A former Virginia police chief has been sentenced after being convicted of drug distribution.
Michael Dean Roberts plead guilty in July and his sentence was handed down in U.S. District Court in Abingdon Wednesday.
According to officials Roberts distributed methamphetamines and cocaine on several occasions, some of which he had snagged from the evidence room of the police department.
