Caterpillar Inc. announced that its mining equipment production operation will move from Pulaski to its facility in Houston, Pennsylvania.
The switch will result in 240 workers being laid off, but the company says the move is necessary in the operation being “more efficient and competitive.”
Caterpillar Inc. stated it will be distributing severance packages to support employees and full-time managers.
The company also plans to discuss benefits packages for production workers.
