Tiger Woods won the Chevron World Challenge Sunday, ending his 2-year drought signifying a return to his old form. The former No. 1 in world rankings, No. 52 before Sunday’s game, vaulted up to the 21 spot. Woods beat out Zach Johnson by one shot, scoring birdies on his final two holes.

“It feels great,” Woods said. “To go head to head against Zach all day was a bunch of fun for both of us. I had been in contention twice this year, which is not often.” Johnson expressed his disappointment that he missed his goal, but did not begrudge Woods the win. “He’s the best player I’ve ever seen. He knows how to win whatever the circumstances,” Johnson said.
