Robert Griffin III selected to the NFC Pro Bowl team

Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III has become the only non-specialist first-year pro to make the Pro Bowl team this year. He narrowly beat out fellow rookie quarterback Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks. When asked what gave Griffin the edge of Wilson, NFL Network analyst Kurt Warner was asked what gave RG3 the edge over Wilson, Warner replied, “It’s about consistency. This guy came on the scene from Week 1. He’s asked to do more for his team than Russell Wilson is. … He really is the reason that this team has won.”

“I would be surprised if Robert wasn’t a Pro Bowl quarterback,” veteran tight end Chris Cooley said earlier Wednesday. “I think he’s done a great job. I think he’s changed the game in a lot of ways as far as what he does. I know preparing for us for other teams is extremely hard. And that’s completely because of the way Robert plays football. And he’s been exceptional. I mean, the guy hasn’t turned the ball over. He’s put up great numbers throughout the year. He’s had a great quarterback percentage throughout the year. That’s all you can ask for a guy. And beyond that, which no one sees, is he’s the leader of this football team.”
