Orioles win beltway battle

Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Jason Hammel helped his team to victory Monday in a game against the Washington Nationals. The Orioles faced difficulties from an exhausted bullpen due to losing a recent game late. Hammel stopped the Nationals from getting any more than two runs as he pitched eight innings, his longest start of the season.

At game’s end, the Orioles beat the Nationals at 6-2. When asked about his excellent performance, Hammel said, “for the year, definitely the best start.”
