First two weeks of NBA cancelled

The first two weeks of the NBA regular season have been cancelled, amid labor disputes between the basketball players and managers. The two sides have yet to reach an agreement, and the remainder of the season is in possible jeopardy. Lockout of players began in early July, with the owners calling for cost-cutting from the players to make up for the $300 million lost in the 2010-2011 season.

Players are calling for a salary increase from $5 to $7 million, which owners have rejected. The NBA preseason has already been canceled. It has yet to be seen if they can reach an agreement. The NBA Player’s Association executive director, Billy Hunter, said the owners are more dug in than in the past.
