President Obama spoke in an interview broadcast on CNN’s “New Day” about the Syrian government. Obama told anchor Chris Cuomo, “We have to think through strategically what’s going to be in our long term national interests.”
Obama discussed claims that the Syrian government had used chemical weapons on citizens, killing more than 1,300 people. He said the American government is “right now gathering information.” He added, “what we’ve seen indicates that this is clearly a big event of grave concern.”
