Obama inches ahead of Romney in Virginia polls

0

In a poll taken of 1,165 likely Virginian voters, President Obama was ahead by exactly five voters. This seems to acurately reflect the rest of the state. A Wall Street Journal/NBC News/Marist Poll survey shows President Obama moving mere steps ahead of Romney at 48% to 47%. The poll had a margin of error of plus or minus 2.9 percentage points. This also seems to reflect the voting status of the country as a whole. Just like in 2008, many are looking to Virginia as a proverbial weather vane to help estimate how the election as a whole is going to turn out. Obama has the support of women in the state by 51% to 45%, which is actually a smaller gap than in most other states. On the flip side, Romney has 50% support among men, as opposed to 45% for President Obama.
