Isaac delays Republican National Convention

Republicans have cancelled the first day of the Republican National Convention in Tampa, as Tropical Storm Isaac hit southern Florida over the weekend and is currently over the gulf coast. The convention is now scheduled to start Tuesday at 7 pm.  The RNC made the decision to postpone the convention over the weekend, due to weather concerns, but the storm went further west than anticipated while Tampa saw only small amounts of rain and wind.

The RNC has made changes to the convention schedule to try and accommodate the speakers on Monday. Anne Romney, who was scheduled to speak on Monday, is now slotted for Tuesday. The start of the convention was moved up an hour, from 8pm to 7pm, with all prime time speeches on Monday scheduled to other days, with daytime speeches rescheduled or dropped all together. All speakers have been given shortened time slots to make room for the headlined speakers on Monday.  Scheduled to give remarks Tuesday include former U.S senator Rick Santorum, Ann Romney, and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.
