Two employees of the IRS have been placed on leave because of their association with a conference in 2010 which cost millions of federal tax dollars. The conference was held in a private suite in a hotel in Anaheim, where employees were offered free food, a violation of guidelines. Money was also spent on event planners, prizes and parody videos. The employees have not been identified.

Acting IRS Commissioner, Danny Werfel said about the incident, “There was clearly inappropriate behavior involved in this situation, and immediate action is needed.”
