Two adults and four children found after being trapped in the snow for six days

Nevada is one of the many states that have been pounded with snow and icy weather in the recent days, and for a group of six people, the snowy mountains became a dangerous trap. James Glanton and his two children, along with Christina MacIntee and her niece and nephew, went out to play in the snow on the Seven Troughs mountains on Sunday, but never came back.

Temperatures dipped below zero Sunday night and friends and family members hoped rescue crews would find the group quickly. “We just got to find them,” said family friend Joan Weagant. “We’ve known them forever, you know. And those little tiny kids can’t be out there in the cold. None of them can be out there in the cold.”

On Monday, authorities received faint contact from Glanton’s cell phone, and by Tuesday, rescuers found the six missing individuals. The Pershing County Sheriff’s Office reported that they were all in fairly good condition, and were taken to the nearby hospital for further examination. After hearing of the good news, Gov. Brian Sandoval tweeted: “Very glad to hear the missing family in Lovelock has been found and they are safe! Thank you to all who worked so tirelessly to find them!”
