A group of severe storms that spanned Arkansas, Iowa and Oklahoma has claimed the lives of at least 16 people as of Monday, April 28th. James Bryant, a Mississippi State University meteorology student told reporters, “There were cars flipped everywhere, there were people screaming. It was a tough scene.” Authorities claim Faulkner County, Arkansas, has suffered the most damage as suspected tornadoes and high winds resulted in loss of property and life as 10 deaths have been reported within the county. Arkansas Gov. Mike Beebe claims the storm is the worst Arkansas has seen in recent history. Sunday’s storms are the beginning of an expected three day severe weather threat as about 3 million residents in the South and Midwest regions of the country are under a moderate threat for severe weather.
