Maryland’s online health insurance marketplace opened to the full public two days earlier than planned. After complications with 2013’s launch of the site, Maryland’s newly rebuilt operated on a graduated launch for 2014. The soft launch went well, so health officials decided to allow individuals to purchase plans starting Monday. Joshua M. Sharfstein, top health official for Maryland, said that by Tuesday afternoon more than 2,300 people had enrolled in private health insurance.
