A man on the run from Maryland police since 1989 has been apprehended in Georgia.
According to Prince George’s County police, 46-year-old Wayne Gilgeours was arrested by Georgia State Police after his fingerprints were run following a traffic stop on October 16.
A warrant was out for Gilgeours in Maryland charging him with first-degree murder.
The victim was 22-year-old Philbert Jones who officers say was shot and killed on May 23, 1989. Officials say the homicide was drug related and Gilgeours fled Maryland after being named a suspect.
