PepsiCo. has agreed to have a meeting on Wednesday with members of Emmett Till’s family and Rev. Al Sharpton.
Sharpton pushed for the meeting after a controversy began, which stemmed from PepsiCo’s Mountain Dew promotion between Lil Wayne, and Tyler the Creator. PepsiCo. and Lil Wayne have since ended their partnership after he made an offensive lyrical statement about the civil rights icon. The company also pulled a Mountain Dew commercial directed by Tyler the Creator after facing much criticism from anti-violence and civil rights groups.
