During an interview with Oprah Winfrey on an OWN special on Sunday evening, Whitney Houston’s family laughed and cried as they remembered one of the greatest voices of all time. Bobbi Kristina, Houston’s only child, told Winfrey “I’m doing as good as I possibly can. Just trying to keep going.” The 19-year-old told Winfrey how her mother continues to have a presence in her life. “I can hear her voice and her spirit talking to me telling me keep moving, baby. I can always feel her with me. She humbles me. I remember what she told me, I remember what she taught me…She was a sister, a comforter. The spirit that she had — no matter where she was … she touched everyone,” Bobbi Kristina said. She also revealed extensive plans to follow in her mother’s footsteps. Bobbi Kristina said, “We are going to do the singing thing, the acting thing, the dancing thing. It’s a lot of pressure but she prepared me for it.”

Winfrey also interviewed Houston’s brother Gary and his wife Patricia. It was the family’s first sit-down interview since Houston’s death on Feb. 11. Gary Houston told Winfrey that his mother, Cissy, is having a hard time with the death of her only daughter, but also said that his mother knew his sister’s life would be cut short. “Whitney is not going to be with us too long my mother would say…. she’s an angel,” he said. Bobbi Kristina maintains a positive outlook on her mother and her legacy. Of rumors surrounding her mother’s death, Bobbi Kristina said, “All that negativity, it’s garbage. That’s not my mother. That’s not who she is.”
