Skidmore College, a private liberal arts college in Saratoga Springs in upstate New York is offering a summer course on Miley Cyrus and won’t make students do any twerking in class. Visiting Assistant Professor Carolyn Chernoff is calling the course “The Sociology of Miley Cyrus: Race, Class, Gender and Media.” Chernoff will be focusing on Cyrus, 21, and all her incarnations as a way to study topics such as gender, race, class, fame, and power. She claims she got the idea after teaching a course on youth culture that featured a video of Cyrus twerking at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards.
