A man has sued Chris Brown over an altercation at a recording studio with the singer’s entourage. The man claims to have been kicked and punched by a member of Brown’s entourage.
Sha’keir Duarte sued Brown for unspecified damages in Los Angeles Superior Court. Duarte claimed he suffered from a concussion as well as humiliation and mental anguish as a result from the attack.
Brown’s attorney called the case frivolous, saying that he will seek to have the lawsuit dismissed and will countersue Duarte.
The fight occurred at Westlake Recording Studio, and erupted on Jan 27 between the entourages of Brown and fellow artist Frank Ocean.
Brown threatened Duarte, saying the fight could lead to a shooting.
Charges were never filed after Ocean, whose fingers were injured during the fight. Ocean said he would not seek criminal or civil penalties.
