Chris Brown probation revoked

On Monday, a judge revoked Chris Brown’s probation after reviewing the details of a supposed hit-and-run accident involving the singer. The judge, however, did not order the singer to jail.

During court, Brown appeared solemn as he sat with his head down and his arms crossed while his lawyer and prosecutors went into the judge’s chambers to discuss the case. When they returned, the judge confirmed that Brown’s probation was to be revoked.

Brown’s lawyer, Mark Geragos, suggested that the matter would be informally resolved. He also noted that the case would be back in court on July 23rd.

The deputy District Attorney did not request that Brown be jailed, and the judge has allowed him to remain free. Another hearing has been set for Aug. 16.

Brown has been on felony probation since 2009 after beating former girlfriend Rihanna. Prosecutors insisted on revoking the singer’s probation after he was charged with a misdemeanor hit-and-run last month.
