Bills unsold tickets purchased by owner

The owner of the Buffalo Bills purchased unsold seats to avoid being the first NFL team this season to have a home game blacked out on local networks.

This is the second time in two months that owner Ralph Wilson Jr. has bought tickets when they failed to sell out at the box office.

President and CEO of the Bills, Russ Brandon, says Wilson purchased the tickets after ensuring a sellout to their home game against the New York Jets on November 17.  The Bills were allotted a one-day extension for ticket sales last Thursday and still had about 3,500 unsold seats.

Wilson avoided a previous local television blackout when he bought 5,300 unsold tickets for the October 13 game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
