Amanda Bynes pleads not guilty

Actress Amanda Bynes pleaded not guilty Wednesday in a driving under the influence case. Her attorney Richard Hutton entered her plea during an arraignment in a Los Angeles courtroom. Bynes, 26, was arrested April 6 after authorities say she scraped a patrol car making a turn. But the District Attorney is reportedly seeking an enhanced sentence because the starlet refused a breathalyser or a blood test the night of the incident. Bynes, who started her career on Nickelodeon’s “All That” and transitioned to films like “What a Girl Wants” and “Hairspray,” denies the allegations and even made a personal plea to President Barack Obama over Twitter. “Hey @BarackObama…I don’t drink. Please fire the cop who arrested me. I also don’t hit and run. The end,” the star tweeted. District Attorney’s spokeswoman Jane Robison says a pretrial hearing is set for July 18.
