WASHINGTON, D.C. NEWS – Man dies after car plunges into Anacostia River

A man has died after he was rescued by first responders from his car that was submerged in the Anacostia River on Christmas Day. The man was transported to a hospital where he later died. 

Three rescue divers and two rescue swimmers entered the river and pulled the man from the vehicle, according to DC Fire and EMS. The vehicle remains in the water as authorities are working to remove it.
