A new study released Thursday showed that a voluntary truancy-prevention program in Washington, D.C. has been effective in keeping students in school. The program, named Show Up, Stand Out has improved the attendance of 71 percent of the elementary and middle school students referred to it last school year. The program is funded by the D.C.
