Rep. Tom Emmer, R-MN, withdrew from the House speaker race four hours after he was nominated.
26 Republicans voted against Emmer becoming speaker behind closed doors which led to his withdrawal.
Emmer, who previously voted to confirm the 2020 presidential election results was unable to get the support of GOP presidential candidate frontrunner Donald Trump. “He is totally out-of-touch with Republican Voters,” Trump shared on social media. “Voting for a Globalist RINO like Tom Emmer would be a tragic mistake!”
