NATIONAL NEWS – Senior officials were not aware of Defense secretary’s hospital stay

Top officials, including President Joe Biden, were unaware of the Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin’s multi-day hospital stay. Austin was hospitalized on New Year’s Day, due to complications from an elective surgery. 

Biden was reportedly not informed of the hospitalization until Jan. 4. Austin remains hospitalized at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Maryland.
