VIRGINIA NEWS – Civil rights attorney to run for Virginia’s First District congressional seat

Former lead attorney for the American Civil Liberties Union of Virginia, Leslie Mehta, is running for the Democratic nomination for Virginia’s First District congressional seat. “I’m ready to run towards the fight because working people deserve someone who stands in their corner no matter what,” said Mehta. 

Republican Rob Wittman currently serves as the district’s representative. The primary election is scheduled for June 18.
