NATIONAL NEWS – Dodgers Shohei Ohtani’s interpreter accused of stealing $16 million

Ippei Mizuhara, the former interpreter for Los Angeles Dodgers baseball player, Shohei Ohtani, has been accused of stealing $16 million from the star. According to the affidavit, Mizuhara allegedly transferred the $16 million from Ohtani’s account to his between November 2021 and January 2024. 

U.S. Attorney Martin Estrada said, “I want to emphasize this point: Mr. Ohtani is considered a victim in this case.” He continued, “Mr. Mizuhara used and abused that position of trust…in order to plunder Mr. Ohtani’s bank account to the tune of over $16 million.”
