The Senate voted on 33-13 to provide legal protections for gender-affirming care against criminal and civil actions. Under the new measure, medical records of patients who recieved gender-affirming care would be protected from out of state investigations.
“This bill is not simply about minors or just sumply about adults,” said Sen. Clarence Lam, D-D-12. “It’s about all patients that may need gender -affirming treatment.”
