SC killer caught, confessed to 9 church murders

Dylann Roof confessed to the murder of nine churchgoers at the Emmanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, S.C., telling investigators that he wanted to start a race war. Roof sat at Bible study in the church on Sunday for an hour before opening fire. Because of his political motivations and his attack on unarmed civilians, Roof’s murders are considered a domestic act of terrorism. Federal officers are also investigating it as a hate crime. The suspect was officially charged with nine counts of murder on Friday morning.
