Bus drivers texting while driving may lead to firing

A recent video depicting a texting school bus driver in Upper Marlboro has led to a policy change for Prince George’s County Public Schools. Now, if caught, drivers may face suspension, demotion, or termination.  “We realized that parents had some questions, and we want to assure parents that students are safe,” Prince George’s County Public Schools spokeswoman Sherrie Johnson said in a television interview. Updated school safety handbooks will be distributed in 2016.
