Bull shark caught in fishing net

On Wednesday, an 8-feet-long bull shark was caught in the Potomac River in St. Mary’s County, Maryland. The shark was caught by Robert T. Brown, a commercial fisherman, and his son Robbie Brown. They had discovered the shark in their nets on Wednesday evening, but the tide was too high and the waters too rough to get it out. They returned on Thursday, but the shark had died. Although it is not uncommon to spot sharks in the river, state authorities said that it was notable for its size.
